Hello everyone! I hope you all are well.
This year, as you may know from my recent posts, I am in my last year of secondary school. Hopefully!
I say hopefully becuase we are still in uncertain times and I have no idea how this year will shape up. Will we do our GCSEs? There has been talk of them being pushed back. What about mock exams? Will we have a prom?
I’m trying not to stress too much and see what happens. Take everything day by day and just letting whatever happens, happen.
Since I am entering year 11, I have been thinking a lot about my steps afterwards. I know the end is near and I have a feeling that this year is going to go really fast.
So, here are the steps I want to take after secondary school:
1. Sixth Form
I want to go to Sixth Form the year after I finish secondary school. Hopefully I will get into my schools Sixth Form, if not I’ll look into others. I am hoping to study Drama, English Literature and History in Sixth Form as they are some of my favourite subjects and I see myself having a future with any of these subjects.
2. Gap Year?
I am thinking of taking a gap year between Sixth Form and University. With this gap year, I am hoping to do some volunteering in Sri Lanka or somewhere like that. I love to travel and help people and I think it would be an amazing opportunity. If you have done this, please comment your experience or offer some tips.
3. Univeristy
I have always dreamed of going to University ever since I was really little. Even if I don’t end up doing whatever I study, I think (yet again) the opportunity and experience would be amazing.
I am hoping to go and study education or something like that to become a teacher of either history or English Literature.
4. A Job
My mind constantly changes on the opinion of future jobs. However, I think I have settled on becoming a teacher and hopefully a bit of acting on the side. Whether that be within the school or in a club. I would like to teach in secondary school as I think I’d be better suited to only teaching certain subjects rather than a variety like in primary schools.
