Hello everyone! Well that’s another month over in this miserable year. However, this month I have decided to do a monthly favourites post which I may continue. During this month, since it’s been the summer holidays and I’ve spent the majority of my time at home, I have discovered a few things that have been my favourites this month (hence the title haha).
Movies – IT
Now I know ‘IT’ came out about 3 years ago. However since it got put on Netflix I have watched it quite a lot. I watched it for the first time around 9 months ago and I loved it then too. I like how it isn’t too scary and it’s funny at times however it isn’t as funny after you’ve heard the jokes about 15 times (oops).
TV Shows – Stranger Things and Jane the Virgin
I recently re-watched all 3 seasons of Stranger Things and I still love it like the first time. I love the story line and character progression. It’s such a fun show. I cannot wait for season 4 to come out.
Jane the Virgin in something I first watched a while ago and I watched the first season and then just stopped. I don’t think I had the time to finish it and then sort of forgot about it. Anyway, I started it again and I like it because it’s easy to follow along and it keeps my mind occupied.
Theatre – Heathers
I know what you’re thinking, ‘Paige, theatres aren’t open yet, how did you see heathers?’ Well I watched it on YouTube. I watched the UK West End version and I loved it. I think I learnt all the songs in about 2 weeks. The storyline is great. The actors were amazing, very well suited to their roles and it was interesting.
Music – Calpurnia
I had never really listened to Indie music until I listened to this band. I really enjoy listening to them. I listen to them on Spotify which I never really used until the start if lockdown back in April. I particularly like the songs ‘City Boy’ and ‘Waves’. I’m also open to listening to other Indie bands so if you have any in mind please leave a comment.
Soundtrack – Heathers
When I find a new musical I enjoy, I love to learn the songs and I listen to them constantly. I have been listening to the Heathers soundtrack on Spotify and YouTube as they are my go too music streaming apps.
Skin Care – Clearasil Rapid Action Gel Wash
This is my go too face wash. It is part of my skin care routine. It is the most refreshing and light face wash I have ever used. It makes my skin really soft and clean and I would say clear but it actually makes all my spots come to the surface of my skin, which I guess is a good thing as it gets rid of all the ugly stuff under my skin.
Book – ‘Wilde About the Girl’ by Louise Pentland
I’m only half way through this book but I’m loving it so far. It will be the next book review blog post so I’m not going to say anything here as it will be talked about there so look forward to that.
New Interest – Journaling
I won’t write about new interests every month as I don’t have one every month but this month I do and it’s journaling. I follow Carrie Hope Fletcher on instagram and she has been doing a live video everyday where she sits for however long and journals. She gives a prompt and you can journal along. I’ve wanted to start a journal for the longest time and have just never got round to it or always forgot about it. I like going off of a prompt as I’m not good at keeping a diary and wtiting about my day. At least if I go off of a prompt I have a certain subject to go off of and write my thoughts about it.
