Helloooo everyone! How are you? I hope you’re doing well.

The end of the month means another ‘Books I Read in…’ post so here it is.

1) ‘Someone I Used To Know’ by Paige Toon.

THEN: At fifteen, George is the foster brother Leah never asked for. As the angry, troubled boy struggles to come to terms with his circumstances, Leah finds herself getting drawn closer to him. Theo has mysteriously left boarding school and is now at the local state school with Leah and George. When their worlds collide that summer, the three teenagers form a bond they believe will be unbreakable. NOW: Shocking news brings Leah back to Yorkshire, baby daughter in tow. But Emilie’s father Theo isn’t with them, and George has unexpectedly returned. After half a lifetime, have they healed the scars of their pasts? Will coming back home set their hearts in a new direction?

Rating: 5/5.

Wow! Absolutely incredible. A story of young love and loss and family. So wholesome and heart-warming! I was reduced to tears from time to time, but ultimately it was such a cozy, lovely read. Paige Toon constantly kept me guessing with her style in this book, constantly flicking back and forth between the ‘then’ and ‘now’. Nothing was revealed to quickly which I liked because it kept me reading on to piece all the information about Leah, George and Theo’s lives together bit by bit. Because of this, I took my time with it, and so enjoyed it all the more.

2) ‘Instructions For Dancing’ by Nicola Yoon.

If Evie Thomas knows one thing, it’s that love doesn’t last. When she sees a couple kiss, she gets a vision of their whole relationship, from the moment they first catch each other’s eye to the last bitter moments of their break-up. It’s more than enough reason for her to keep boys at arm’s length. But then, at La Brea Dance Studio, she meets X – tall, dreadlocked, fascinating. And as they dance around and towards each other, Evie finds herself wondering if, after all, love might just be worth the risk…

This book made me feel so many emotions it’s almost unbelievable! Throughout the middle of the book, I felt like it was a 3/5 but then the ending just upped it that little bit. All the feels! I cried. I smiles. I laughed. I felt mad. It was a ride. Yet again, I cannot wait for the next Nicola Yoon book! I understood Evie’s wariness of love and openness, however, I love how X just teaches her that she doesn’t need to be weary. They make such an adorable couple! I also thought the visions were rather interesting to see in a book.
