Helloooo everybody! I hope you are all okay!
Sticking with the theme of books that I seem to be going with so far this year, I have decided to give you an updated list of ‘My Favourite Books’.
1) ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ by J.K. Rowling.

Harry Potter’s summer has included the worst birthday ever, doomy warnings from a House-Elf called Dobby, and rescue from the Dursley’s by his friend Ron Weasley in a magical flying car! Back at Hogwarts School of Withcraft and Wizardry for his second year, Harry hears strange whispers echo through empty corridors – and then the attacks start. Students are found as though turned to stone… Dobby’s sinister predictions seem to be coming true.
2) ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ by Suzanne Collins.

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are still alive. Katniss should be relieved, but now there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol – a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create. As the nation watches Katniss and Peeta, the stakes are higher than ever. One false move and the consequences will be unimaginable.
3) ‘Divergent’ by Veronica Roth.

Beatrice Prior is on the brink of a decision that will change her life. In a society divided into factions all are forced to choose where they belong. And the choice Tris makes shocks everyone, including herself. Once decisions are made, the new members are forced to undergo extreme initiation tests with devastating consequences. As their experience transforms them, Tris must determine who her friends are – and if the man who both threatens and protects her is really on her side. Because Tris has a deadly secret. And as growing conflict threatens to unravel their seemingly perfect society, this secret might save those Tris loves… or it might destroy her.
4) ’The Longest Holiday’ by Paige Toon (16+)

Laura has been married to the man of her dreams for seven months. But a week before the wedding, Matthew made a terrible mistake. Escaping the humiliation that is now her marriage, Laura is whisked off to Florida’s Key West by her best friend Marty. A carefree holiday full of cocktails and fun surrounded by gorgeous, tanned men, is exactly what the doctor ordered. Distraction comes in the form of sexy Cuban scuba diver Leo. Laura’s instant attraction to him knocks her flying, and she falls hard. As the end of the holiday approaches, Laura doesn’t want to go home. Is it time to face the music? Or is there more to Key West than a holiday romance?
5) ‘If You Could Go Anywhere’ by Paige Toon.

Angie has always wanted to travel, but at twenty-seven she has barely stepped outside the small mining town where she was born. Instead, she discovers the world through stories told to her by passing travellers, dreaming that one day she’ll see it all for herself. When her grandmother passes away, leaving Angie with no remaining family, she is ready to start her own adventures. Then she finds a letter revealing the address of the father she never knew, and realises instantly where her journey must begin: Italy. As Angie sets out to find the truth – about her family, her past and who she truly is – will mysterious and reckless Italian Alessandro help guide the way?
6) ‘Everything, Everything’ by Nicola Yoon.

Maddy is allergic to the world. She hasn’t left her house in seventeen years. Olly is the boy next door. He’s determined to reach her.
7) ’The Start of Me and You’ by Emery Lord.

It’s been a year since Paige’s first boyfriend died in a swimming accident and its time she rejoined the real world. So she makes a plan: 1) Date a boy (long-standing crush Ryan Chase seems like the perfect choice), 2) Attend parties (with best friends by your side: doable), 3) Join a club (simple enough, right?), 4) Travel (might as well dream big), 5) Swim (terrifying. Impossible). But when she meets Ryan’s sweet (but so nerdy) cousin, Max, he opens her world and Paige’s plans start to change… Is it too late for a second chance at life?
8) ’The Names They Gave Us’ by Emery Lord.

Lucy has her perfect summer planned out: perfect boyfriend, perfect job and quality time with her perfect parents. Then her mom’s cancer comes back, and suddenly life makes no sense. Before she knows it, Lucy finds herself agreeing to volunteer at a camp for troubled kids, where lives are more different from her own than she could have imagined possible. Here Lucy meets the dahsing but mysterious fellow councellor Jones, who will change the way she sees the world forever. With tragedy hovering at the edges of Lucy’s life, this summer she must find out who she really is and what it means to love.
9) ‘Letters To The Lost’ by Brigid Kemmerer.

Juliet Young has always written letters to her mother. Even after her mother’s death, she leaves letters at her grave. It’s the only thing that helps Juliet cope. Declan Murphy is that kind of tough guy you wouldn’t want to cross. But while on community service doing landscaping at the local cemetery, he is haunted by ghosts of his own past. When Declan finds a letter beside a grave, he can’t resist writing back. Soon, he is sharing his pain with a perfect stranger… Except they’re not strangers, and when real life interferes with their secret life of letters, Juliet and Declan discover truths that might tear them apart.
10) ‘More Than We Can Tell’ by Brigid Kemmerer.

Every day Rev struggles with the memories and demons of the time before he was adopted. He’s always managed just fine, until a letter from his birth father brings hellfire, fear and danger back into his life. Emma escapes her life in an online game she built herself. Virtual reality is so much easier than real life. But then another player joins the game and suddenly ultra-violent threats start to stream in… When Rev and Emma meet, they are fighting a darkness they can’t put into words. But somehow they hear eachother and together they might be able to find a way out…
11) ‘Call It What You Want’ by Brigid Kemmerer.

Rob had it all, but when his dad was caught embezzling funds from half the town, everything changed. Now Rob’s the social pariah who lost everything – his friends, his status, even his family. Maegan was a typical overachiever until the pressure got to her last year. And now that her sister is pregnant, pretending to be the “perfect” family might be too much to handle. When Rob and Maegan are paired together at school, they’re both reluctant to let down the walls they’ve built. But Rob’s plan to fix the damage caused by his father could ruin more than their fragile new friendship…
